Good Life Resorts properties are like nothing else that you will find in San Diego. We rented the sanctuary property for my wife's baby shower which had about 70 people in attendance and was the perfect venue. The staff is extremely attentive and easy to work with. We had a huge smoke oven barbecue brought to cater on site, Disney characters, and a full bar set up with plenty of space to spare.

Event FAQ's

Catering & Alcohol 

  • Do you offer in-house catering services, or work with external caterers? We do not provide in-house catering, but if you need recommendations, please reach out to us. We would be happy to connect you with some of our local favorites.

  • Do you allow Bring-Your-Own Catering? Absolutely, you are welcome to hire your own caterer, bring your own food, or cook directly on-site if your event space includes a grill.

  • Can I hire a Food Truck for my event? Food trucks are more than welcome at your event. If you plan on hiring one, please let us know so we can provide your vendor with the necessary information and help them find the best setup location.

  • Am I allowed to bring my own Alcohol? Yes, you are allowed to supply your own alcohol for your event, including hard liquor, seltzers, beers, and wines. If you prefer, you can also purchase alcohol directly from our resort. Please contact us for the most up-to-date pricing sheet. 

  • Can I hire a bartender for my event? You may hire a bartender from an external company to serve at your event. Unfortunately, we do not have in-house bartenders available for hire.

  • Do you have an ice maker/ice chest on site? We currently do not have an ice maker on site. However, we do provide rollable ice chests at no additional cost for your event's use. Please contact us if you will require ice chests at your event so that we can make sure we have them available for you. You must purchase your own ice. 

  • Do I need to purchase a liquor license to bring my own alcohol? No, you do not need to purchase any licensing. If you plan to host a for-profit commercial event, we already have an alcohol license, so there is no need for you to obtain any additional licensing.

Live Music & DJs

  • Do you provide DJ/ Live Music services, or do we need to hire an external DJ/Live Music? We do not currently have an in-house DJ/Live Music. You are welcome to hire any DJ/Live Music of your choice for your event. 

  • Is there a limit to the duration the DJ/Live Music can perform, or can they play throughout the event? There is no limit to the duration of your DJ. They are allowed to play throughout the entirety of the event. 

  • Do you have any restrictions on the type of equipment the DJ/ Live Music can bring? No, we do not have restrictions on the type equipment. We kindly ask that any material that may be offensive to not be played. 

  • What is your policy on volume levels and sound restrictions? While we do not have a formal policy regarding sound restrictions, we kindly request that you be mindful of other vacation rentals at the resort and use discretion regarding the volume of your music.

  • What are your Quiet Hours?  Our quiet hours begin at 10pm. At that time, please turn off all music and make sure event guests are maintaining proper noise levels. 

  • Are there any additional fees for DJ/ Live Music services, such as setup or teardown? Our resort staff is available for hire to assist your DJ/Band with setup and teardown. If you're interested in these services, please contact us for more details. Please note, a $43 fee is required for hiring a DJ or Live Band. 

Decorations

  • Are there any restrictions on the types of decorations we can use? Approved decorations include banners, hanging decor, balloons, and centerpieces. Any decor that would permanently alter the structure is not permitted including nails and pushpins. Sparkles or glitter of any kind are not allowed. 

  • Do you provide any decorations or is it solely up to us to bring our own? Regrettably, we don't have any decor available for your use at the moment. You're welcome to bring your own decorations to personalize your event space.

  • Is there a specific time frame for setting up and taking down decorations? Hosts are allotted 30 minutes before the event for set-up and an additional 30 minutes afterward for cleaning up decorations. If you need additional time for set-up or clean-up for your event, please contact us so we can best assist.  

Tables & Chairs  

  • Are we able to rent tables and chairs? Yes, we have 12 eight-foot white banquet tables and 160 white banquet chairs available for rent for your event. he price for this add-on includes labor for the tables and chairs, and our staff will set up and take down the chairs and tables for your event. For the most accurate pricing, please refer to the 'Add-On' section on this page.​

  • Do you provide linens with the rental of tables and chairs? At this time, we do not provide linens. We recommend bringing your own linens and table decorations to personalize your event. 

  • Could you please clarify which event spaces include tables and chairs? Our Bamboo Garden and Event Tent 1 & 2 spaces include tables and chairs. If you require additional tables and chairs, these can be rented separately. The Beach Boardwalk includes minimal seating as shown in the provided pictures. You have the option to replace the black tables and chairs with banquet tables and chairs, or you can add extra banquet tables alongside the existing black furniture.

Extra Staff 

  • ​You may hire our resort staff for assistance with your event in greeting guests, set-up, and clean-up assistance. See our Events page for the most accurate pricing. If you would like to hire staff to pass out appetizers or bartend,  you are welcome to hire staff from an outside company to assist in bartending or passing out appetizers. We do not have in-house bartenders or tray passers at this time.  

Cancellation Policy 

  • What is the cancel policy for events? You will receive a full refund thirty (30) days or more before your event. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations 29 to 8 days before the event. You will receive a 25% refund 7 days or fewer before event start time. Our cancellation policy may vary on different websites. ​

Other

  • Do I need to purchase event insurance? We require event insurance in two instances: (1) If you are hosting a paid event or an event selling alcohol (2) Larger events over fifty guests with vendors 

  • What is considered improper etiquette for events? This would include, but not limited to: Swearing, Violent behavior, nudity, loitering, entering vacation rentals or other spaces that are not part of your reservation. 

Event Waiver 

  • All guests are required to sign our Events Waiver, which outlines the terms and conditions for hosting your event. We encourage you to carefully review the waiver before signing to understand the event guidelines. Please note, events with over 40 guests must secure their own insurance, as detailed in our insurance clause.

Threw my 30th birthday party here and it was AMAZING. The space is really clean and big. We probably had between 30 and 40 people show up and there was still PLENTY of space for tons more people. Joshua's team was professional and showed us how everything worked. The only thing that was a little weird was that the space wasn't completely private. The people renting the units were still able to walk through the space, even though there was a sign for the private event, and some people ended up staying for the party (which I didn't mind at the end of the day) . Overall would highly recommend.

My only note is that there are guests that may sometimes walk through to get back to their airbnb but they were all respectful. There was one person we had to ask to leave but he was understanding luckily. This venue would be excellent for anyone who needs a great bar space. The sandpit was great for our party which was Barbie Beach theme, but I could see the venue working for just about any type of party! Especially tropical themes.
